A Day In My Life

                           A Day In My Life

My day typically starts around 6 or 7 am whenever my children decide it is time to get up.  They never sleep in no matter what time they go to bed unless they are sick and that is very rarely.  I spend about 5 minutes checking my phone and then get up and get breakfast ready for my horde.  All while starting on whatever housework I need to get done for that day.

My house stays clean but I have OCD so I never think it is clean enough.  I am always doing the laundry and dishes.  I try to sweep every day and mop once a week.  Dusting happens whenever it starts to bother me.  I take the trash out every other day to keep the house from smelling horrible.

I am big on the Glade Plug Ins and keep them in every room in my house.  After breakfast, we clean up and typically just spend the day watching tv and playing with toys or games.  The kids do not go anywhere public during this pandemic and they have only ever been to my parent's house or my sister's house this entire time.  I am big on wiping everything down with Clorox or Lysol wipes.

Since the pandemic, Gabriel has been in virtual school and he loves it.  He is excelling way better than previous years.  Logan and Elena are so smart especially after all the time they spent in daycare/preschool before the pandemic hit.  We still work on school stuff with them but since they are so young they don't stick with it long unless it is ABC Mouse.

If the weather is nice then they play outside in our huge fenced in backyard that has plenty of equipment to keep them busy until lunch time.  Typically consists of sandwiches and chips or pizza rolls cause they are addicted to them.  We don't really do junk food anymore, we are big on baked chips and gummies or yogurt and applesauce.  They love fruit and most vegetables luckily.

After lunch is naptime for Logan and Elena so that I can either take a nap as well or get things done that they would normally just be in the way of.  I also lay out what I plan to cook for dinner that night.  While doing everything I typically have a YouTube video going in the background or sometimes an audiobook.  I can't stand the quiet because it sets my nerves on edge and makes my anxiety run wild.

I guess that is from my time as a correctional officer, quiet never equals anything good in a prison.  After naptime, I start a movie for them while I cook dinner then we sit at the table and dig in.  Every other night is bath night or more frequently depending on how dirty they get.  Otherwise they get their faces and hands washed and ready for bed after brushing their teeth and picking out their bedtime movies.

Once I have tucked them all in and kissed them all good night, I clean up dinner.  I will either start the dishes or a load of laundry.  Most likely I am on the couch watching YouTube or scrolling social media.  Around 9:30pm I will get my boyfriend's coffee ready for work and lay out his dinner plate for him to eat when he gets up to get ready for work.

After I have seen him out the door, I will double check all the locks and let the dogs out one last time so they don't go to the bathroom in the house.  Then it is off to my room for a late night movie or South Park marathon just depends on if there is anything on the tv that night.  I clean our room or rearrange something before going to bed finally.  On a good night I will sneak in a shower while the kids are asleep so that I can have some time to myself without interruption.

I have a very boring daily life so if you found this helpful or amusing, leave me a comment down below.  If you have read this far, thanks a ton! I deeply appreciate it and love you all.  I hope everyone goes into the new year with open hearts and open minds.

Much love,

xoxo
